Terms of Service
Draft dated October 17, 2026 (version 2026-10-17). These terms are pending review by an attorney and will be updated before paid plans launch.
1. Who we are
Icebreaker is a service of PolarIQ ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old. Keep your password and email account secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. Accounts are opened only after we approve them, and we may decline or close accounts at our discretion.
3. What the service does
Icebreaker displays and updates job-search information stored in Google Sheets and Google Docs that you or we connect to your account. You keep ownership of your content. You authorize us to read and write those files to provide the service.
4. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service: no unlawful activity, no attempts to access other users' data, no automated scraping of third-party sites through Icebreaker, and no interference with the service's security or operation.
5. Plans, billing and cancellation
Friend accounts are free and granted by invitation. Paid plans, when offered, renew automatically each month or year until cancelled. We will show the price and renewal terms before you subscribe, will not charge you until your account is approved, and you can cancel online at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees already paid are not refundable except where required by law.
6. No guarantee of employment
Icebreaker is an organizing tool. Match scores, summaries and other suggestions are estimates and are not career, legal or financial advice. Job listings may be inaccurate or outdated; always confirm details with the employer.
7. Third-party services
The service relies on Google, our hosting provider, and (if enabled) AI providers and Stripe. Their terms also apply to your use of their services. We are not affiliated with any job board or employer.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PolarIQ is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or $50 if you paid nothing).
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. We will notify you of material changes by email or in the app; continuing to use Icebreaker after changes take effect means you accept them.
